OK - well, when you are talking solar - of course - it all comes from the sun. The Sun is a huge nuclear reactor that converts its own mass into light - photons. This is even more amazing when we realise that this is only 2 billionths of the sun's total energy output - and is still more than 35,000 times more than the energy that we are currently using.
